MI: ‘Proposal for Decision’ Issued For Dr. Robert Alexander

On September 17  I spoke with my fellow watchdog and friend Lynn Mills. Lynn and I have been following Dr. Robert Alexander around the state together for over a year now. We are both tired, but there appears to be light at the end of the tunnel on this doctor. The numerous articles I have written about this man, with her help, are listed here.

Lynn sent me a copy of the “Proposal for Decision” issued by Judge Shawn Downey of the Michigan Administrative Hearing System on September 9, 2014, which Lynn had obtained from the Michigan Attorney General’s office.

It confirms what we both had been expecting – that Dr. Alexander has shown, by overwhelming evidence, that no matter how many times he insisted that the conditions at his abortion clinic were always “someone else’s fault,” that he is responsible for both negligence and incompetence under the Michigan Public Health Code.

As Judge Downey bluntly opined, “The ultimate responsibility lies with Robert Alexander, and he failed miserably in his obligation of due care.” That’s a pretty strong statement about Alexander’s integrity (or lack thereof), character (or lack thereof) and decency (or lack thereof).

So what happens next? This Proposal for Decision goes to the Michigan Board of Medicine for a final decision. Given that Dr. Alexander has been found negligent and incompetent, it would be a shock if his license were not revoked for a third and, hopefully, final time.

It is difficult to comprehend that given his decades of history of felony convictions, time in prison, drug abuse, and now even being found ‘incompetent and negligent’ that he will be given permission by the State of Michigan to practice medicine ever again.

The Board of Medicine will render its final decision on Dr. Alexander in mid-November, nearly two years after Dr. Alexander’s Muskegon “House of Horrors” was closed by the Muskegon Fire Marshal.

We anxiously wait with much anticipation for a good outcome for the citizens of Michigan.
